Dr. Shawn D. Thomas, a native of Pennsylvania, completed his undergraduate studies in Pre-Medicine and Biology at Penn State University. He went on to obtain his Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He continued his extensive training at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Medical Hospital at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia and the Katzen Eye Group in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Thomas has devoted his career to the diagnosis and management of ocular disease. For the last two decades he has treated thousands of patients with advanced ocular conditions including Glaucoma, Cataracts, Macular Degeneration, Dry eye and Corneal diseases. Dr. Thomas was the clinical director at INSIGHT LASIK and Refractive Group in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he managed over 20,000 refractive and cataract surgery cases during his tenure. He has also published extensively on refractive surgery and has lectured internationally in his over 20 years as a treating physician.
Dr. Thomas is an avid outdoorsman and his love for the ocean and offshore fishing brought him to the Myrtle Beach area. He resides in Murrells Inlet with his wife, Corrie, two daughters, Londyn and Vivien, and son Jack Wesley Thomas. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and fishing on his boat The Underdog.
A native of North Carolina, started her career in ophthalmology in 1986 and received her COA certification in 1989. Working in all aspects of the profession, Lisa has become an expert technician performing specialized testing, ocular imaging and assisting in minor and major eye surgeries.
Lisa say's " I have been fortunate enough to work with Dr. Thomas for the past 5 years. He and our patients make working an enjoyable experience!"
When Lisa is not helping patients, she enjoys spending time with her beautiful daughter, shopping and gardening.
A Native of Virginia, has had a long and rewarding career in Ophthalmology. Machon is a COA (Certified Ophthalmic Assistant) with 30 years of experience. She is extremely thorough and obviously enjoys helping patients with all of their eye care needs.

Machon also enjoys spending sunny days on the beach with her husband and friends. She loves a good horror movie or sci-fi book and she also loves to travel.
Before moving to South Carolina in December 2016, Nancy worked for 20 years at Holy Name Medical Center in NJ. Working behind the scenes in the business office for many of those years, she took great pride in assisting patients with any issues they had regarding their visits. Wishing to continue working in healthcare, she has chosen the field of eyes. Nancy brings with her the genuine love of helping others.
She joins Eastern Eye Care as Office Manager, and her goal is to assist patients with any questions or concerns and to ensure that the patient’s experience is a positive one.
Nancy’s family is her pride and joy and when not working she enjoys spending time with them as well as rejuvenating herself at the beach.
A native of Western Massachusetts, Amie has spent many years in the field of Ophthalmology. She received her certificate as a COA in 2005. Amie has excelled in her career working in different specialties including Cornea, Retina and Glaucoma. She is a well seasoned ophthalmic technician and is experienced with multiple types of testing and imaging of the eyes.
When Amie is not working she enjoys traveling, shopping and relaxing at the beach.
Born and raised in Georgetown, South Carolina, Korre has worked in the medical field for twelve years. Assisting physicians with the treatment and care of their patients is her passion. Korre is skilled in all aspects of the medical field and works diligently to uphold the highest possible level of patient experience.
When not at the office, Korre loves spending time with her daughter and family. There is also a good chance you will find her at the beach.
A new resident of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Shelli has worked in school administration most of her adult life. She is greatly enjoying her new role as a patient advocate and coordinator for Eastern Eye Care. With her top notch skills in organization along with her professional and kind demeanor, Shelli ensures the proper handling of patient scheduling and record management.
Shelli enjoys spending time with her family and of course , relaxing at the beach.
